“EXPOSURE” is a series of monotypes in which the female body plays the leading role.
The body inhabits a space bathed in red light that situates it in the time of intimacy and an encounter with its own sensuality. We are the voyeurs of the moment of “desire”.
Monotypes - single-edition prints - are more the preserve of painters. It's an exercise in memory, somewhere between painting and drawing.
With this approach, my work is based on the observation of my memories, made up of images, moments in life, stories I've heard, and, as with painting, visual impressions of light.
Often, the recomposition of a memory is associated with a light bath, or with sounds and smells, all of which together reconstitute a lived moment.
On this occasion, I thought that artificial light, which accompanies and envelops the female body, had the role of a dance rider. A “pasodoble”, an inseparable duet, where' the body never fails to seek out the light and with it to impose itself in an intimate space.
If spectators are voyeurs of this dance, they are also witnesses to their own desire.
Are we voyeurs or voyants?
